6 easy steps to attend your appointment


Book your telehealth appointment with your doctor or health care provider as normal (either through the clinics online booking platform or by phone).


An appointment will be created in Welio for you. You will receive an SMS when it is made.


On the day and time of your appointment, log into the App.


Click on Appointments and select today’s appointment.


Click on the green icon to enter the virtual waiting room. Your doctor will join you shortly.


At the end of the call you will see a summary of the duration of your consult and the fee.

How does payment work?

When you book your appointment, you will see what the expected fee is for the type of appointment you booked. This fee is set by your doctor or health care provider. There is also a nominal fee to Welio of $2.

At the end of your consultation, your doctor will finalise your billing, just as they would if you were seeing them in person. Payment is contactless using the credit card details you entered in when you registered. You will receive an email with the final payment receipt as soon as your doctor has finalised the billing in Welio.

Your clinic will then process your Medicare claim for you, and you will receive a rebate it within 24-48 hours of your appointment into the bank account that you have registered with Medicare for patients with a valid Medicare Card and services eligible for a telehealth Medicare rebate.

Tips for a good Welio appointment

Open the Welio app before your appointment time and enter the virtual waiting room.
Make sure you have good Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.
Turn off any antivirus programs you have running on your device.
Make sure you have allowed Welio to access the camera and audio.
